The healthcare outsourcing solutions providers have been racing against time to catch up on the requirements to achieve the IC-10 compliance for the medical billing outsourcing. Even the transition for the ICD-10 would still be a couple of the years from now, the healthcare companies, medical billing companies and healthcare insurance providers included are already seeking the assistance of the outsourcing solutions providers. Despite of the pressure on the healthcare companies to pursue their ICD-10 transition, the healthcare institutions such as the hospitals see the expensive and the quite difficult. The replacement of the present systems was being used that would be too costly, having an average of $2 million and $5 million in expenses to upgrade and replace them.
The companies are still in the early stages of the upgrading their processes to ICD-10 despite of the fast approaching deadline in October 2013.
